This document offers guidance on the utilisation of eye movement recordings to establish the presence of peripheral vestibular or central pathological changes. The preparation and considerations prior to assessment are discussed, along with patient preparation. Techniques of eye movement recording (ENG/VNG) are reviewed, with guidance specific to each method offered. The minimum requirements for recording eye movements are offered, including gaze, tracking and optokinetic testing. Performing static positioning testing and head shaking testing are also reviewed. In summary, this is an important document to inform professionals in the assessment of eye movements, methodologies, analysis of responses and interpretation of findings in the assessment of the dizzy patient.
