Description The Interacoustics Academy Infant Evoked Potentials Masterclass is a 3 day in-person course designed to deliver theoretical and hands-on training for evoked potential testing in newborns. We are delighted to be able to host this course at Interacoustics headquarters in Denmark.
Covering auditory brainstem response (ABR) assessment, auditory steady state response (ASSR) testing, cochlear microphonics (CM) and cortical testing, this course will equip delegates with the knowledge and skills to perform accurate hearing assessments in the newborn population. Case studies, demonstrations and practical sessions will be used to familiarise delegates with evoked potentials equipment, patient preparation, testing technique, establishing threshold, results interpretation and the management of straight forward and complex scenarios.
This course does not cover assessments in older children, adult hearing assessment, neurological ABR testing or newborn hearing screening. The focus will be exclusively on diagnostic threshold assessment and hearing loss identification in newborn infants.
We are pleased to offer course participants a special discounted price for the Interacoustics Academy Clinical Diploma: Newborn Hearing Assessment. Usually priced at 800 euros, participants will be able to register for the Clinical Diploma for just 200 euros. This offer must be paid for upon registering for the course. For more information about the Clinical Diploma, please visit https://www.interacoustics.com/academy/clinical-diploma
Target participants: Audiologists, otolaryngologists, audio vestibular physicians or other clinicians performing diagnostic hearing threshold assessments in the infant population. This course is ideal for any clinician new to evoked potentials testing in young infants, or for more experienced clinicians seeking a refresher or update to their clinical practice.
Prerequisite knowledge:This course assumes a basic theoretical understanding of auditory brainstem response testing and electrophysiological assessments.

Speakers:
Amanda Goodhew
Amanda holds a Master's degree in Audiology from the University of Southampton, where she now teaches as a Visiting Academic. She has extensive experience holding senior audiologist positions in numerous NHS hospitals and clinics, where her primary focus has been pediatric audiology. Her specific areas of interest include electrophysiology (in particular ABR, ASSR and cortical testing), neonatal diagnostics and amplification and the assessment and rehabilitation of patients with autism and complex needs. Amanda has a particular interest in pediatric behavioral assessment and has twice held the Chairperson position for the South London Visual Reinforcement Audiometry Peer Review Group, and is a member of the Reference Group for the British Society of Audiology Pediatric Audiology Interest Group. Amanda also works as an independent technical assessor, undertaking quality assessment for audiological services throughout the UK, and is a member of the expert reference group for the James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership on Childhood Deafness and Hearing Loss.
Michael East
Michael is an Audiologist and Clinical Scientist from the UK with many years of experience working in senior clinical audiology positions within the National Health Service, specialising in both paediatrics and vestibular assessment/rehabilitation. He holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from the University of Southampton and Aston University respectively and completed the UK’s National School of Healthcare Science “Scientist Training Programme”; leading to his registration as a Clinical Scientist. Since joining the Academy in 2024, Michael has presented at several international scientific conferences, guest lectured at academic institutions and led courses on a wide range of topics in the field of audiology.
Rasmus Skipper
Rasmus holds a Master of Science degree in audiology from the University of Southern Denmark, where he ended his degree with a thesis on cVEMP and oVEMP. Before joining Interacoustics, he worked at a university hospital performing a variety of audiological tests including audiometry, free field discrimination, ABR, ASSR and electrocochleography. Rasmus was for a short period also responsible for the screening program in the region the hospital covers. Rasmus joined Interacoustics as a clinical product manager for the Eclipse and the OAE products ensuring continuous development of those products and performs on-site training for these products as well. He keeps his clinical know-how in check by working at a Univeristy Hospital once a month performing newborn hearing screening and assessment and other electrophysiological measurements.
