This is how to perform the Adaptation Test (ADT) on the Virtualis MotionVR. All right Roger, I want you to stand up on the platform. You're going to keep your hands to your side and stand as still as possible. Instruct the patient that their goal is to maintain stability as the platform moves.

Have the patient remove their shoes for a standardized somatosensory input. Center the patient's feet on the force plate. The front edge of the medial malleolus of each foot should be directly centered on the horizontal line of the force plate. The outer edge of the foot should be aligned with the anteroposterior lines.

When the feet are positioned correctly, assist the patient in putting on the headset. Then close and lock the safety ring. Next, select setting options. We recommend keeping the default settings.

You ready to begin? I'm ready. Okay, so I'm going to start.

Once you launch the Adaptation Test module, the platform will ascend to the starting test position. You are now ready to begin the assessment. Are you ready? Okay, here we go.

The force plate will first tilt backwards five times. You can use the screen to observe real-time feedback on the patient's performance. If the patient loses their balance or removes their feet from the correct position, press the interrupt button at the bottom of the screen and the trial will end.

You can follow the progression of the test in the column on the left side of the screen. When the five backwards tilts are completed, the force plate will tilt forwards five times. Again, you can use the screen to observe real-time feedback on the patient's performance.

All right, you can put your hands on the ring.

Once the assessment is complete, click the results button on the screen and the force plate moves back into the lowered position. Open the safety ring and assist the patient with removing the headset and stepping off the platform.

You can view the assessment results in the software.
