Optimizing your vestibular diagnostic test battery New description: The vestibular assessment toolbox offers a wide range of tests that can be used to clinically evaluate the dizzy patient. But which ones should you use and when? At the end of this session learners will understand what is considered a comprehensive vestibular assessment, and the importance of diagnostic information to both determine the diagnosis and assess the impact of the pathology in patients with dizziness and or balance impairment.

  • Describe the assessments for comprehensive vestibular assessment
  • Analyse the importance and role of otolith testing in the vestibular assessment test battery
  • Interpret case studies to describe the application of a comprehensive clinical assessment



Course Presenter:

Leigh Martin

Leigh Martin is a British Audiologist and adjunct lecturer at the University of Cork, Ireland. Clinically, he has worked in the National Health Service specializing in paediatric audiology as well as vestibular diagnostics and rehabilitation. Leigh has also sat on the board of directors for the British Academy of Audiology. Since 2013, Leigh has supported the growth and development of the Interacoustics Academy and holds the position of Director of the Academy. Leigh has presented at numerous scientific conferences and meetings across a diverse range of audiological topics as well as having published papers in both video head impulse testing (vHIT) and wideband tympanometry.
